We are convinced that PWG Italia's goal of investing in the availability of material at our local warehouse is proof of our commitment to LG Chem / LG Watersolutions and therefore to all partners who support our growth. I would like to thank our Sales Managers Stefano Righi and Gianmarco Palma and the entire PWG Italia team for the excellent results. Our logistical and commercial support continues to grow and that motivates us greatly. Our customers are clearly rewarding us for that. We warmly thank them for their trust.”
Sofie Pollet: "When Frederik joined our group in 2007, we had agreed that he would stay for at least 3 years, as the entrepreneurial spirit has always been part of his DNA. It ended up being 15 years. I want to extend my sincere thanks to Frederik! We had a great journey together!" "After Frederik's announcement in October, I started looking for a successor. We have employed Sven Ameye for the function of CEO. Sven is 43 years old. He has been with Unilin, an international group active in floor coverings, for 19 years."

Pallas PFAS Filter Cartridge
Single Point of Use Domestic Water Filtration
Is the tap water in our European countries safe? Definitely! The European Drinking Water Directive provides clear guidelines and monitors the quality of our drinking water. Yet we see the demand for Point-of-Use (POU) solutions increasing. Events like Corona, PFAS pollution, microplastics in our waters... ensure that the population is more aware of how they use their drinking water. A good evolution that keeps us all on our toes.
As Pollet Water Group, together with our customers and partners, we are in the front row when it comes to detecting trends, new technologies and the continuous improvement of water treatment. It all comes to perfecting water! As an example, we saw an increase in demand for single-point-of-use cartridge filters within the domestic segment. PFAS contamination dominated the Belgian news for months, but is known across the continent. The production and use of PFAS in products has resulted in the contamination of drinking water supplies in several European countries. Do not be mistaken: it remains healthy to drink tap water. There are very low levels of PFAS in tap water and it can be filtered out. But the specific cartridges further reduce that concentration of PFAS.
What is PFAS?
PFAS is the collective name for more than 4700 chemical substances that include a combination of fluorine compounds and alkyl groups. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) substances are resistant to high temperatures and are water, dirt and grease repellent. They are therefore widely used in industrial applications and consumer products. The new European Drinking Water Directive (EU 2020/2184) includes PFAS as a 'new' drinking water parameter. The European standard for the 20 most relevant individual PFAS-20 is 100 nanograms per litre (ng/l). The water companies continue the measurement efforts in a targeted manner and map out the options for reducing the concentrations or at least not allowing them to increase.

Let’s Make Water Count
The possibility of having an extra filter for PFAS at the domestic level, opens opportunities. It fits in our philosophy to ‘make water count’ while caring for the health of all citizens and encouraging innovation for safer chemicals!

Hydrogen is the element of the future in a crucial role for the green energy transition. As an energy carrier hydrogen can store energy excesses from offshore wind parks. Making hydrogen production feasible at sea is a key innovation in this. The INTENSSE-H2 project will study the feasibility of an innovative concept where water desalination AND hydrogen production through electrolysis will be integrated in a 1-step solution. This one year project officially started November 1th 2021.
In stead of treating seawater with UF and RO to purify it the electrolyte in the process can be used as a draw solution to desalinate the sea water through a specific type of membrane.
Before developing the proof of concept which can induce the industrialisation of the concept the project team will investigate the feasibility of the concept. The central challenges are:

Eco-Vision recently took care of a new water treatment installation at DAF Westerlo (BE). After the degreasing- phosphating process, each truck axle is rinsed with denim water before it is painted. The Eco-Vision installation demineralises the process water and at the same time achieves a significant reduction in the waste stream. Next to a mobile denim unit, a vacuum evaporator is also integrated into the pre-treatment process. This combined installation ensures significant environmental savings and at the same time a much higher water quality. DAF Westerlo: "Where in previous years the waste water still amounted to some 750m3, this is now reduced to just 10 to 12m3. Thanks to the commissioning of the installation, the quality is a lot better and it meets all the requirements of the Central Laboratory. It is so clear that you can see the bottom of the barrel, even after two months of production. Thanks to the new installation, regeneration is more convenient, easier to maintain and much safer. We now have a number of process parameters with which we can monitor and log the conductivity or acidity of the baths. Whereas in the past we could only start after the problem had been identified, we can now adjust proactively." The DAF-project perfectly translates Eco-Vision's approach. An approach and vision that results in both ecological benefits and operating profit. Eco-Vision, change starts with a vision!
The Evolve AFM ng filter is a hyper filter that is used in diverse applications such as pre-filtration for UF/RO installations, fine filtration, cooling towers, as a polishing step, etc. Thanks to the use of the AFM ng media and the patented Evolve controller, this unit offers:
Green Hydrogen is a trending topic and crucial for reaching the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. Green H2 is produced by water electrolysis, using only power from renewable energy sources such as wind or solar energy. Hydrogen becomes the alternative 'fuel' for shipping or long-haul trucking. It can also be transformed to electricity and heat. These utilisation of green hydrogen are also referred to as PtX (power-to-X). This will make a significant contribution as an action for climate and the decarbonisation of economies.
The water treatment unit is an important part of the electrolysis plant since electrolysers need pure water as a feedstock. Curious how we can support you?
