Eco-Vision recently took care of a new water treatment installation at DAF Westerlo (BE). After the degreasing- phosphating process, each truck axle is rinsed with denim water before it is painted. The Eco-Vision installation demineralises the process water and at the same time achieves a significant reduction in the waste stream. Next to a mobile denim unit, a vacuum evaporator is also integrated into the pre-treatment process. This combined installation ensures significant environmental savings and at the same time a much higher water quality. DAF Westerlo: "Where in previous years the waste water still amounted to some 750m3, this is now reduced to just 10 to 12m3. Thanks to the commissioning of the installation, the quality is a lot better and it meets all the requirements of the Central Laboratory. It is so clear that you can see the bottom of the barrel, even after two months of production. Thanks to the new installation, regeneration is more convenient, easier to maintain and much safer. We now have a number of process parameters with which we can monitor and log the conductivity or acidity of the baths. Whereas in the past we could only start after the problem had been identified, we can now adjust proactively." The DAF-project perfectly translates Eco-Vision's approach. An approach and vision that results in both ecological benefits and operating profit. Eco-Vision, change starts with a vision! Comments are closed.
